Archive for July, 2009![]() Most Christmas trees are decorated with a mix of ornaments, from mass-manufactured store-bought ornaments to homemade ornaments courtesy of the kids. This variety makes a Christmas tree unique and special, but it can become a little haphazard looking over time. If you have company coming over and want your Christmas tree and other decorations to look more pulled-together, you should find some special ornaments to dress up the decor. You can even have two trees: a “grown-up” tree that’s decorated with spectacular, handmade Christmas ornaments and a smaller “kid tree” that your kids can decorate with their favorite homemade ornaments. Look for hand blown glass and hand painted Christmas ornaments for a truly elegant and sophisticated tree. Choose a mix of shiny and matte ornaments to add variety, plus a healthy amount of glittery ornaments for sparkle and shine. Brightly colored ornaments look great against a rich, green tree, and white lights are best to light up the ornaments but not distract from them. Weave red or metallic gold gift-wrapping ribbon through the boughs of your Christmas tree for an extra special touch. |
