I am the biggest Santa collector around. When I find an unique new Santa for the upcoming Christmas season, I just have to share. This Santa is a hand blown and hand painted ornament from Poland. I love the brightly colored striped coat and the lime green dotted front with orange gloves.
This Santa is so cute, I just have to have him for my Christmas tree this year. I know you will love him too!
For many, many years people have decorated with ginger jars. It might be as a lamp base, a vase or other art object. Many collectors are attracted by what is know as the old blue and white. I love looking for unusual Christmas ornaments and really fell in love with these unique hand blown and hand painted ginger jar ornaments from Poland. These ornaments will really be new and different for your Christmas tree this year.
The Iris is a unique flower in that the scientific name and the common name are the same. The Iris takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species. It is a popular garden flower in the United States. If you are longing for the many colors of beautiful Spring flowers try decorating with hand blown and hand painted flower ornaments from Poland. These are sure to lift your spirits until your Spring flowers are in bloom.
Why not mix things up this Christmas and try something different on your Christmas tree. Try a garden tree with fruit and vegetable ornaments, tractors, flower pots, garden tools and dried flowers. This will really get people talking about your Christmas tree. If you always loved the fruit and vegetable ornaments, but never wanted a fruit and vegetable themed tree, think of this wonderful wreath in your kitchen window. It really is delightful through the winter months, when the sun glistens off of these wonderful ornaments and reminds us that Spring always comes. However you decorate for winter do it with a spirit of joy and fun!
To indulge your inner child for Spring many designers have taken a trip down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass. You see many magazine articles of wildly delightful fashions, enchanted charms and exquisite furnishings all inspired by Alice in Wonderland. When faced with so many delightfully disorienting colors and trippy patterns just remember what the dormouse said: Keep your head! Another of my favorite characters is the Mad Hatter. In the Disney animated feature Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter appears as a short, hyper tea-loving person. Alice stumbles into the Mad Hatter and the March Hare having an “Un-birthday” party for themselves.
They explained to Alice that an “Un-birthday is the 364 days that aren’t your birthday. In the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland the Mad Hatter is portrayed by Johnny Depp, which arrives in theaters on March 5th. The beloved fantasy in theaters this Spring explains the arrival of bold and beautiful colors for Spring. If you are not into the wild colors and bold patterns, give yourself an “Un-birthday” present of polish hand blown glass ornaments of the Mad-Hatter or many other Alice in Wonderland character ornaments. You will love them!
Even though Christmas is almost a year away, it is never too soon to start making preparing for the holiday season. Here are some helpful pointers for decorating next holiday. First off would be to hang some Christmas lights outside the house. This way, even your neighbors will be in a festive mood. Next is to find the perfect Christmas tree. It could be a real pine tree or you can choose a store-bought one. Think of a theme for this year’s Christmas decor. You can adorn your tree with angel ornaments or blown glass Christmas ornaments. Or perhaps you choose to layer your tree with icicles and ribbons. To complete the look of your home, hang a Christmas tapestry on a wall. Now you’re all set for the holidays!
At this time of the year with the snow falling almost daily, I spend a lot of time thinking of the beautiful flowers of spring. There are several things about spring I love. First, the number of daylight hours increases. It just makes you feel like you have so much more time. Daylight hours seem more productive. Second, Spring is a wonderful time of the year. In the spring, plants and trees sprout new leaves and my favorite flowers bloom. Spring flowers are beautiful and fragrant. Last and most important spring gives you a new lease on life and certainly a better attitude about life. If you have been a little depressed about the weather outside, you might start a floral ornament collection. It will certainly give you something beautifully to see while we wait for spring.
It can seem like you’re in a rush to do a hundred things all at the same time when you’re preparing for holiday guests. To make your party or gathering seem manageable, consider taking the time to plan out what you need to get done each day. Start bringing out your holiday décor early, and clear off tables, shelves, and mantles where you intend to display it in advance. If you happen to have kids and think they are careful enough to handle your Polish ornaments, allow them to help placing them around the house. This will help save you time and give them something to do. Once you’ve finished decorating, you will want to do things like food preparation and lighting candles closer to last minute, but be prepared with recipes and matches. Organizing your schedule will keep you from going mad under all the pressure!
Each Christmas I look forward to decorating the tree with my family. We always pick out a big Douglas fir and decorate it about two weeks before the holiday with our vast collection of Christmas tree ornaments. My family has so many decorations; it’s hard to get them organized. It usually takes my brother and me more than an hour to carry the bulky boxes of holiday decorations downstairs. After we get the boxes into the living room we like to go through them one by one. It usually takes a while because we always find little treasures from the past. The ornament I made in third grade from a blown-out eggshell or the funny picture of my brother when his front teeth were missing. After we get done unpacking the ornaments we like to sit on the couch together and gaze at our beautiful tree and wondrous Christmas home décor.
